2026 WRH Draft Tournament Recap
Celebrating the Growth of Women’s Roller Hockey
What a weekend.
The 2026 Rinkster WRH Draft Tournament was our biggest and most exciting event yet, and we are still blown away by the energy, support, and community that filled Irvine Inline all weekend long.
What started in 2022 as a small 8-team women’s tournament has quickly grown into a full girls and women’s event featuring 4 divisions and 20 teams. Seeing that kind of growth in such a short time has been incredibly special, and none of it would be possible without the players, families, coaches, volunteers, sponsors, and supporters who continue to believe in what we are building.
One of the coolest moments of the entire weekend was simply walking into Irvine Inline and seeing the rink completely packed. The parking lot full. The lobby full. Every corner of the rink filled with girls and women’s teams. It felt different in the best possible way, and honestly, it was a refreshing change from the normal tournament atmosphere.
To see an entire facility dedicated to girls and women’s roller hockey for a full weekend was something really special.
Even more meaningful was seeing so many generations of players sharing the same event. From our 9U division, to the 13U players, to the women’s divisions, all the way to moms stepping on the rink in the beginner/novice division. That is what this event is all about.
Creating opportunities for girls to enter the sport, continue playing as they get older, and still have a place to compete and belong as adults is something we care deeply about. Watching families experience the event together across multiple divisions was one of the best reminders of why this tournament matters.
We also want to give a huge thank you to everyone who helped make the weekend possible.
Thank you to our coaches, tournament staff, scorekeepers, referees, photographers, rink staff, sponsors, and everyone working behind the scenes. Events like this only happen because people are willing to give their time and energy to help grow the game, and we are incredibly grateful for all of the support.
We are also proud that proceeds from this event will help support the Team USA Women’s program as they prepare to represent the United States at the World Championships in Paraguay this October. Supporting the next generation and helping grow opportunities for women in our sport will always be part of the mission behind WRH.
To every player, parent, supporter, and fan who attended this year’s tournament. Thank you.
The momentum around women’s roller hockey right now is real, and we are excited for what comes next.
We are already looking forward to continuing to grow this event and expand what WRH can offer in the future. Stay tuned, because we are currently exploring the possibility of adding another smaller WRH event in Southern California around December.
This community continues to exceed every expectation, and we cannot wait to do it all again next year.
